We moved here a year1/2 ago and I have one huge complaint about the Butler schools. We moved here from Lee's Summit where both of my sons were on the honor roll. I have told both my boys that they will go to college no exceptions. The grading scale sets our kids up to fail. I don't understand any benefit for the stricter grading scale. It does nothing for our children. Colleges go by thier GPA. This causes thier GPA to be lower, which means our kids might not qualify for scholorships that other kids will with the same % grade. The United States overall practices the 10% grading scale. Butler is doing grade rationing, Administrators who use this kind of grading system thinks it prepares our kids for the real world. Some parent depend on on scholorships, sorry lifes tough welcome to the real world. What do you think??? Carrie

Need some more ap class, dual credit class for student who want to study in college. In this way school help them to collect more college credit in school.

I contribute the success of my children to the Butler School District. The teachers and staff were good to listen to any problems we had with the school and worked toward the goal of success. I do agree, that not all teachers are understanding of students needs but most of them at Butler are. The one or two that didn't seem to care, had no affect on the outcome of my children's success later on in life. They simply understood this is a part of life and to count this as a learning experience.
