My son attends BVMS for 6th, 7th and now 8th grade. He loves the school but does not feel the teachers take there time in teaching and explaining. On a daily basis we as parents have to help in detail with homework and at times it gets frustration because we as parents are not sure how they want the child to learn the material. Also it would be nice at this level if they would really teach the students how to study. We as parents tell the child to study and can I help but at school with educated teacher I as a parent would love it if they would have a studies skilled class.

Bayou View is one of the best schools not only in the state but in the country. The administrative and teaching staff in above compare. The school atmosphere is great and the diversity is one of it's best atributes. If you are a parent looking for a school that is equally competitive for everyone thwn this is the place for you. Go Vikings!

I believe BVMS is wonderful. My son attended 6th and 7th grade at BVMS and is currently in 8th grade. He and I both realized the educational advantage BVMS offers. He loves his school. He's in band, jazz band, newspaper staff, football and is rehearsing for the school play. I feel he has received everything he needs to be ready for high school this fall. The teachers are great. The Independent studies program has been most helpful in encouraging my son to believe that he can do any task put before him if he believes in himself and puts forth his best effort.
