great principal; excellent, caring and stimulating teachers;involved parents; a real community school.
Grant is an amazing. I have 2 kids who attend school there. Like every school, public or private, your experience is heavily affected by your teachers. We have had some amazing teachers and some not quite as amazing ones. I don't think this is something unique to Grant...This is every school. There are 2 crucial differences at Grant. The first is the parent involvement. It isn't just 'stay-at-home Moms' doing all the work there. Moms and Dads (working and non) are involved in managing the school and its activities and they are smart and inclusive parents. This really made Grant stand out for us. We felt like a part of a community. The second big reason Grant is amazing is Al Friedenberg, the Principal. He is incredible. He gets kids and believes that school should be fun and the kids love him and respect him.
As a parent of a kindergartner finishing our first year at Grant, I have been impressed at almost every turn. Great school. Great kids.
