Annie Purl Elementary School

This is a great school, but it only goes to 2nd grade, not 5th or 6th. They concentrate on giving the kids a great jump start to their education and it's not so scary for young kids to be exposed to only 2nd grade. They are not exposed to the height and personality changes in the older kids under they go to Williams elementary (3rd to 6th), it instills confidence and a chance to grow independently of older siblings.

My oldest child is 12 and my youngest is in 2nd grade at Annie Purl and in our experience, it has been the best school either of my kids has ever attended. Principal Bryan Dawson makes the effort to know each child, and Virginia Senchack is the most incredible second grade teacher. She takes each student as an individual and tailors their lessons to suit them. IThe school is preK thru 2nd, so there is a great focus on early childhood issues. I'm very sad that next year we have to go on up to the intermediate elementary school.

My son has enjoyed every moment at Annie Purl. Teachers are responsive, inclusive and respect all types of people and learners. The new Principal is at the curb everyday greeting the car riders and parents! He knows everyone by name and is always ready to stop and pay attention to student and parent. The teacher quality we have experienced is excellent. Patience and the ability to work in all they must and still have kids come out smiling! The music program is great-the teacher worked with my son with stage fright and got him to participate in a program! Great parent turnout at all events.
