The community at this school is wonderful, and the principal really is exceptional. The staff are all extremely invested - all of them from the principal to the cafeteria workers have (or had) their kids attending the school. The PTA is warm, hard-working, and effective. Like anywhere, there can be a teacher who isn't a great match for a student, but even having experienced that I love the school for my son.
The school has a Spanish-immersion program that has the students speaking Spanish in a few short months. It's incredible. The principal is excellent and the overall community is the best!
I volunteer here and i love this school, the kids are great and the staff is friendly and very disciplinary when they have to be to make sure the students are able to learn without any interruptions. Its a multi-cultural school with mostly free or reduced lunch students but everyone tries to get involved when they are able to do so
We have two children at the school, and they are very different. Both, however, are exceedingly happy to go to Edison every morning. The dedication of the teachers is immense, and the Principal is, I think, the strongest in the District. Our scores reflect that. Though a small school, it is intensely diverse, something we are very thankful for.
