Grenada Elementary School was rated the #1 rural elementary school in the country by a nationally known magazine. The teachers are hands on, and keep the parents completely informed. The children love the teachers. What small problems I personally have had, have been addressed immediately!

I agree with the previous post about the private school situation--if you don't live in a certain area or are not a member of a 'prominent' (i.e., 'rich') family you won't go far as far as acceptance from students and teachers are concerned. I also think that the lack of interaction with other races and cultures is a disappointment with the private school. That's why I love Grenada Elementary so much. The teachers don't care who you are or where you come from; they are ready and willing to give ALL of their students an equal opportunity to learn.

My son attended this school during k5 and we were not disappointed. The level of activities is amazing but overall I was impressed with the measures they have for displine. They have a Red (for bad) Yellow (for warning) and Green (for Good) and the kids really strive to get these good colors. Overall I've been very impressed with this school.

My child attended Grenada Elementary in Kindergarten and First Grade. Her teachers were Mrs. Patricia Hood and Mrs. Cox respecitively. Our entire experience with the school was wonderful. Her teachers were always concerned and held partent teacher meetings that were very informative. My daughter loved to go to school each and every day. I know for a fact that it is because of teacher's like this. I received detailed progress reports from them. And knew which areas I needed to focus on. I sat in on a couple of my daughter's classes. I was really impressed with the way the teaching was handled and the way the students responded. Mr. Pender and now Mr. Poss are both great Principals. We recently moved to another area. And having a top notch school was a very important factor in deciding upon the area. We defintely used Grenada Elementary as a grading scale.
