In comparison with other top-notch elementary schools, Pinnacle Peak falls short in regards to nightly math practice, challenging spelling/vocabulary practice and thorough writing practice. A parent must supplement these disciplines if their child is to be on par with the best schools in the U.S. and to build a decent work ethic in their student. Fortunately PPE provides enough time each night and weekend for an industrious parent to do so. Without supplementation a student will have a tough time competing as they matriculate to other more challenging schools.

We moved to Pinnacle Peak about 2 1/2 years ago and have found the academics to be spot on. My kids have always been motivated to achieve great academic success. The data speaks for itself....check out the Paradise Valley District website to find out just how great our kids are! Why does it have to be a bad thing to be a part of a family of friends and teachers that push the academics and make it enjoyable? I would ask my best friends to put their children at PPES!

Disappointing academics and many disruptive kids make PPE undesireable. I agree with most of the negative feedback, which provides specific criticisms. The recent positive reviews are vague, and talk about the great social activities. If you want a fraternity for your kids, and fit in with cliques, you will enjoy PPE. I agree that many of our teachers were great. But they can't be effective because they're limited in what theyre allowed to teach (a dumbed-down curriculum so all kids will get As and parents will be appeased) and what they have to tolerate with all the disruptive kids (the kids all know there is hardly any consequence for being disruptive or a bully, so why not push the enveope). PPE is truly mediocre.

Skip the generic positive reviews and focus on the ones that detail the problems with this school, which hit the nail on the head. If you want lots of parties, and are OK with antisocial behaviors [cliques, class pets and bullies] you will consider PPE a great school offering a top notch experience. But if you want an academic experience rather than a fraternity, you will be disappointed. There are many caring and hardworking teachers, and several great families, but that doesn't improve the academics. Parents are appeased with A's, even when these grades come from easy tests and unlimited test retakes rather than mastery of material, which is certainly a policy our teachers followed. On a positive note, the mediocre academics leave time for families to attend all the family activities. Whoo whoo!!!
