This is a real world school with a staff of teachers that genuinely care about these kids. There are plenty of activities to enrich the middle school experience at Southern Middle. Active parents make a real difference here too.
I expected more from Moore county schools. Would not recommend this middle school. Too many troubled kids that bully the kids that do follow the rules and want to learn.
As a student who has just graduated from Southern Middle School, I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed making many wonderful friends and memories at this school. There are many academic oppurtunites to take in and the diverese population makes it easy for one to immerse themselves in a wonderful, interesting group of people. There are so many different clubs to be a part of and being involved in every part of this school is definitely fun and interesting. I have never had such a passionate, smart group of teachers as I have had at Southern Middle School. I am very proud to be able to say tbat I have been a Southern Middle School Dragon who feels prepared for high school and the rest of the world. Deciding to be a Southern Middle School Dragon is the best idea anyone could have!
This school could be better with the discipline. There are some children there that interfere with student learning. It is not fair to risk student learning due to behavior problems.
