Ellington High School, though not without its faults, is a place where students of varying interests, backgrounds, and career goals can thrive. Teachers, for the most part, are knowledgeable, caring, and hold students to high standards. The AP/Honors teachers tend to be the best. Academics are challenging and students genuinely care about their schoolwork. The school's elective classes offer an outlet for those who would prefer to learn with their hands, offering an interesting range of subjects from Multicultural Foods to Transportation Systems, Photography to Business Law. The school also offers a range of sports and extracurricular activities. Student who have the best experience at EHS are those who become involved. The administration is generally well-liked, as the principal is personable and listens to students and disciplinarians are generally fair.

I am very impressed with the administration at EHS, I have developed on through the Ellington school systems since age 4, and am doing extremely well pursuing a higher education. I strongly feel that I would not have been better prepared for a university anywhere else. EHS has wonderful extracurricular activities and clubs, which I participated in, and appreciate very much. I just feel privelaged to know that I was taken care of so well throughout school.
