We are newcomers to the area and my son just started this school a few months ago. So far we've been a little disappointed with the quality of instruction inside this school. Some of the teachers do very little teaching and just have the students fill out worksheets during class by finding answers buried in a textbook. My son would like to go to a university up north where we moved from and the guidance counselors have very little knowledge of out of state schools, which has also been very frustrating. On the bright side, the school facilities are very nice and the students all in all are a very friendly bunch.
Northview is great school. People writing reviews should keep in mind that nothing is flawless including people who are writing their reviews. My daughter is senior and we all in our family are very happy with her learning experience. She has done very well in school, SAT, ACT, and all AP courses which would not have been possible without good school. Our middle daughter is entering Northview this year and we are happy that she got the opportunity to go to Northview.

Northview is a good school. However, from my experience (son just graduated, daughter currently attending) the school places too much emphasis on testing at the expense of encouraging students to develop their co-curricular interests. While we test very highly, from what I've heard talking with friends and co-workers, we seem to lag some other schools with similarly high test scores in the metro area in terms of gaining students acceptances to top (i.e. Harvard) type institutions. Granted, this is a newer school so we may not have had enough time to develop those relationships with out-of state schools that others have but it's an area which I strongly feel the school could work on.

this school is horrible. they only care about sports, and the academics are ridiculous. i didn't fit in at this school at all. it was very cliquey and if you weren't half dressed, no girls would want to be your friend, and no guys would talk to you. it was ridiculous. i'm happy to be going to chs this year
