In our opinion, this is an excellent public school. Does a rating of 'excellence' mean it is W/O problems...no one would be so naive... I want to make an additional comment b/c there may be some parents/students out there who do read this: The experience of any student is directly related to the parents involvement with their teen in this process...not an isolated kid who comes home to an empty house (obviously there are exceptions). By in large a loving, supportive, and parent(s) involvement in their teens life reflects many +'s that may not be picked up by the school. So, we see many excellent students, involved kids in the schools activities, parents who show up and support their teens, and engaging faculty with excellent email/etc communication. Therefore, yes, this IS AN EXCELLENT SCHOOL...PROVIDED the parents are involved...we see the problems deriving from anything other than this...

I was surprised at some of the negative comments left by parents and students about EFHS. As a parent, I am very pleased with Estrella Foothhills High School. The school is not too big, and not too small. They provide ample time for the students to complete their work in class, which results in not having to bring home school work. The school rates, 'excelling'. Their committment to the Arts and athletics is unsurpassed by any other high schools in the area (with the exception of Litchfield Park). The only negative is there are many students who attend EFHS that do not live in the community and may be judgemental due to the economic differences. The familes who live in Estrella, probably make more than the median family income for the area.

Majority of my teatchers are very intellegent but others should not have gotten into teaching. The administration staff is completely incompetent and I agree with many of the parents that they do just mentally and emotionally attack many of the students. To the parents that say that are principal isnt good I wouldn't know. I've gone to most of the school events and the only time I have ever seen muchless speak with the principal was at future freshman night. If you do not have to send your child to this school and may send your child to another I would highly recommend it.

We moved from an exceptionally good school district to Estrella Foothill this year. It was a very difficult adjustment for our family. No homework, no friends, no one to have lunch with. We spoke to each of our teachers, coaches and the administration. We learned what we could do to help our son to enjoy his time here. We all had to get involved and work togehter to help, the school, my son and us, as the parents. My son is now very happy, involved and getting great grades. After speaking with the adminstation we know what we need to do to get our son into the classes that will be more challaging to him. Once we all made the committment to get involved everything fell into place. We are very happy with the school.
