Overall the Alief school district is not that impressive-at least Petrosky Elementary and Albright Middle School. Both principles have not taken certain issues with teachers very seriously. If you're lucky your child will get at least 1 good teacher each year at Albright to help make up for the other ones.
I think Albright is one of the best schools in Houston wait I know it is one of the best schools in Houston why because my child goes to Albright middles school and I think it is a very well done school. the sports are showing improvement they are winning almost every game and there math it is so perfect I don't know what to say my child can do all different kind of math even math I never heard of. also reading my child can even speak very understanding english know, I couldn't even see my eyes right when she start telling me about many diff... things she learn she says she loves Albright so much she doesn't want to leave Ablright will be bless with many diff.. thing and many diff. ways it will be very bless and we will remember it, in the way the world will come.
This school has wonderful academic programs. It's good in extracurricular actvcities. And parent involvement is awesome.
This school is a mixed bag. Some teachers are excellent professionals, interested in quality interaction with parents and able to intuit and address individual student needs; some are so caught up in their own ego that they don't care about individual children or about parental concerns. Music and art programs are excellent, but administrators don't show up to concerts and are more supportive of sports. Last couple of principals have been ineffective; current one is so new he seems like a deer trapped in the headlights most of the time.
