CMCES is a great small town school. Learning to bridge the gap w/parent / teacher communication, a work in progress. Caring teachers, small class sizes, fantasic art program, music, spanish, and a fabulous enrichment /gifted & talented program. The school NEEDS parent involvment, volunteers, school board needs to see the parents there supporting, asking questions. Being involved is the key in a small town school like cape may.
My daughter attended this school and got one of the best educations when compared to the elementary schools in the country. She went on to be accepted to 6 of the top 10 Universities in the US.

This school has horrible parent teacher communication. They offer tons of extra activities but they are not very organized.I've had to stay on top of everything at this school and it is on the third week.
The school is great for a small community. My kids have had a good education with some bumps along the way. Most of the teachers are quite caring about their students. Some do not know how to communicate with the parent's when asked. I would watch out for the principle. Her words are harsh, down grading and she is looking for something to stir up the anxiety level among the parents. I, personally, would not deal with her unless you absolutely had to. They do offer advanced classes, which have been wonderful for my oldest. They offer swim, guitar lessons, language, extra reading if needed as well. So, the help is there if the child needs it, but once again watch out because they tend to push parents in that direction (to get the extra help) even though the child does not need it. Goodluck!
