Don't believe the previous review...WAAS is an amazing school. I've been there since 5th grade and my fellow classmates are intelligent and wonderful people. Its not perfect, but WAAS is as good as a middle school os gonna get. I love it, and I have learned so much.
This small school has downsides - like lots of teacher turnover and social bullying. When my child was the victim, they didn't seem to take it seriously. Lots of homework doesn't mean a better education - we are very disappointed. People may not realize that a group of parents run this school the way they want to - and their kids are treated differently. There is no principal in charge so you are just left disappointed.
The learning environment at WAAS encourages and celebrates academic exploration while allowing students to express their own individuality.
This school provides a safe, nurturing, and academically challenging environment for adolescents. The school is a wonderful community of learners that prepares students for the rigors of high school.
