Sports are a big part of the school. There seems to be a lot of parent support in sports. Their drama productions are really entertaining as well. The band always sounds great as well. They aren't very well organized when it comes to the annual registration. There is little flexibility if you are not able to make the one week registration time frame. Overall, the staff seems very friendly and interested in the kids.

Rural school with many good programs. Limited range of classes in science. Good math staff. Social studies needs work. Excellent vocational programs in computers. The school always has problems getting all of their seniors to graduate. More of a community problem, than a school problem. For kids with a stable home life PHS is a good school to attend.

Payson High School was known for its wonderful sports, coachs, and teachers a few years back. Lately the pressures of being a bigger school has made a negitive effect on payson high, making the small town comunity disagree with all of the small highs changes. The often shifting and noncomplete information to the comunity is making it angry with the system. Other wise if payson went back to being a small town high school with less pressures I think it would do just fine.
