So far we've been very pleased with Lake Zurich schools. Most of the teachers have 15+ years exp. in the school, and are incredible!

In the past 2 1/2 years I have had 4 children at Seth Paine. I am pleased with the quality education and the well-trained teachers there. Music, PE, art, band, and limited intramurals are available, and parent involvement is always appreciated to carry out the numerous enrichment activities always going on. The school is still developing its gifted program, and I found they do not like making decisions based on test scores from other states. Discouraging. Be aware that this is not a 'free' public education in this district. Property taxes are high, there is a yearly registration fee for each student, and there are constant fundraising efforts the children are asked to participate in. On the other hand, you get what you pay for, and the students at this school receive excellent study and life skills.

My gifted son had a very bad experience at this school. He was in 1st grade and there is no program for gifted in first grade. They refused to provide an 'appropriate education' for him or adjust the curriculum at all. He was extremely bored and depressed. He was forced to do repetitive work that he had learned two years previously. The teacher was not supportive at all and the principal gave lip service but did nothing much. My son cried every day when he came home. This may be a good school for students who are learning at a normal rate but gifted stay away unless they change some programs.
