My son just started the sixth grade. And he loves to wake up excited about going to school ,and any school that makes him feel like that has my approval
This school is the worst school i have ever encounterd. First of all, they bus our kids to it at 13 miles each way. They are way too strict on the dress code. My son had his cell phone and it rang just as school was about to let out and they took his phone and suspended him. He has never been in trouble before and is a straight a student. This was not good. I only made him take the phone because the school was so far away. Only for emergencies. While he was suspended one day, he was not ever able to make up the work. This is just setting up our kids for failure! i believe he should be punished, but not by taking his school work away. Then the school wants everyone to do so good. This school only has grades a,b,c,f. Not good.
This is not such a great school. They waited until Feb. 2008 to offer our children a service that they should have made available to us the entire school year. Tutoring. They waited till they could see that some of the kids were slipping for the CRCT test then offered the parents of those children help with tutoring service. My son has been struggling all year long and only now that it effects their numbers are they willing to help. There are fights all the time at that school and I'm not sure anything gets done about it unless the vicitm is African American. This school has been a major disapointment to me for almost 2 years now. I loved Midway Elementary School the teachers there really did care about my son and worked hard to make sure he was where he needed to be acadimically all year long.
This is a great school. They have a really great sports program. They also have great great teachers. For example, Mrs. Layton.She really reaches out to her students. If there are problems at home or at school.The school has a very good environment. It really would really make want to learn. I would know all of these things, because I am a student here. It is a great place!
