Where to begin? The teachers are among the best you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. They are caring but stern at the same time. The principal is the heart of Bethune Academy. Mrs. Knowles brings warmth, compassion and discipline that makes every student adore her. At one point, we considered moving to a nearby town. However, the thought of leaving Bethune was enough to keep us here. I have always felt safe each time I dropped my children off. The office staff always greet you with a smile. As a parent, your concerns are never dismissed. You won't find a school better than Bethune.
My daughter just started Bethune Academy and I must say I have seen a great improvement in her work. She has homework everyday except fridays, which is their spelling test days. The parent teacher correspondence is great.
My daughter is in 3rd grade at Bethune Academy. We have had experience with 5 elementary schools and Bethune Academy is at the top of our list, in great schools, if you are considering it, do it, you will not be disapointed.
Yes, this school is in a bad area, but that has no impact on the level of education in this wonderful school. Both of my children attend this school.
