I am a parent and a graduate of Twiggs County High School. Rating this school may not bring about positive change, but it does allow me to provide some insight to someone who may be considering moving to this area. I moved back to this area because it is home. I have two children in the Twiggs County public school system. One is in high school and one is in elementary. I'm very satisfied with the education my child is receiving in the elementary school so far, but I'm disappointed with the high school. The many changes haven't improved much for the school. I admire some of the teachers and administrators, but some of the them act like their sole purpose is to make the students miserable and earn money as they do. Leadership's failure to put the students' learning first proves their priorities are off.
Twiggs County High School is a small school; which is fine, because Twiggs county itself is 'small'. I am a graduate of Cobras' Country and very proud of it---it makes me sad when I come to visit ('home') and see that the town; where I grew up, looks like it just stood still of time. If the town itself hasn't progressed over the years, it is difficult to believe that the school system has improved enough to compete with other schools in the area and the state!
Thanks to Twiggs County High School I am now successful with all the doors in the world open for me. I appreciate all of your time and your dedication. Couldnt have done this without you all.
We moved here 2 years ago from a military school system. Twiggs County School system needs a lot of improvement. The dress code issue would not be an issue if everyone wore the same thing (uniforms). This system is very dumb to the issue of bullying and harassment. The special education department needs some help also.
