All of the recent posts are right on. My child is so stressed out I'm considering having her medicated. And she is one of those straight A students in middle school who now takes some AP classes and works her fanny off and is at the bottom half of her class. Emotionally, this school is not good for a teen. Self-taught classes and no support from administrators. And the social side leaves a lot to be desired.

This school is the worst school ever! The teachers want to uphold the fact that this school is 'the best high school' in the district, they give so much homework and tell us 'Guys, this is due tomorrow' when we already have tons of stuff and tests to study for. The teachers are all very inconsiderate.

We moved to California this summer and my son is now a junior in a high school here. Prior to this school year, he had attended CWE, FSMS, and CHS his first 2 years of high school. I have always been very involved with my children's schooling, especially my son, so I know what my son went and go through. While it's true that the perceived academic atmosphere, the level of desire that students and parents personally possess to distinguish themselves, might be very high in CHS, the amount of actual homework, quizzes, and examinations are a lot less there than here in California. This california High School only got a rating of '9', compared to CHS's '10', so go figure.
I really don't know. People say that Clements is a wonderful school and all, but in reality, well at least in my opinion, it's awful. The teachers are inconsiderate and gives so much homework every night so that it's mandatory to stay up until 12. They give tests and quizzes every single week, sometimes even twice a week. They don't care if you have a major exam tomorrow, they just add on more things to do. I take all Pre-AP Honors courses, and it's just too hard. I had straight A's throughout middle school, but now I barely have a B. This is not just my problem, it's also true for a lot of other students. The teachers here grade hard, gives loads of homework everyday, and all they have to do is just sit there and grade papers. All classes are just 'self learning'.
