I'm very happy with The Academy, this is the second year my daughter will be attending and she has learn a lot. I'm surprised how much she has improved with her social skills and all the things she has learned. She started in Preschool and she is going to Kinder this year, and she 's already reading....!!!! slowley but she is reading and she is only 4 years old. I do wish they build the permantent school soon.
High Point Academy has one of the best academic programs for K-8 schools in the Denver/Aurora area. Our teachers in K and 1st were/are tremendous. Hoping that the school can move into permanent facilties in the next few years. Would like to see more arts and music added. This would give the students a diversion from the 8 hours of Core Knowledge study. I am willing to sacrifice the art and music for now for a top quality education. My child knows more in 1st grade than most DPS/Aurora/Cherry Creek public school kids know by the end of the 2nd grade. This school is a diamond in the rough...and a best kept secret.
The administrators at this school are only concerned about there title. Children are out of control and CHARTER means one thing to them, 'BUSINESS.'
Once this school has the ability to move into a longterm facility it will be one of the best schools on this side of Denver.
