TCA is definately not as bad as some of the other reviews make it sound. Yes a lot of the students are of the same religion and have the same political views but there are still some who are different and dont get persecuted. I am just entering high school after being here for 7 years and I like it. Although I do find it best for kids entering elementary school instead of coming in in junior high.

TCA north is an excellent school. Students who wish to do well achieve success. The school has problems typical of many large schools (poor communication, small groups of petulant parents who don't get their way, etc.) but overall it is an amazing place. Seniors are accepted to the best colleges and universities. The school demographics match the demographics of the area. All in all, it is a safe option for your kids.

I mean it's a good school, it teaches you well academically, but as far as personal growth goes... there is not a bigger handicap in growing up than going to tca. The most diverse of students at this school are exactly like everyone else and you are almost shunned if you are the least bit different. I was a student here for 9-11 and I had no idea that I was so sheltered, but for my senior year(this year) i went to another school and I am now forced to grow up all at once. I was treated like a child and not allowed to become a person, just another tca clone. But it is a really good school academically for a public school. but all the d20 schools are good academically so I'd suggest any other d20 school... instead of this one..

School has too much turnover - multiple teachers for kids in a semester - it's getting ridiculous. Admin doesn't respond to concerns. Kids here cannot be free thinkers - too many absurd rules and an overly sheltered unrealistic environment. Elementary is the only way to go for TCA - avoid MS & HS as the older kids are treated like elementary students unfortunately - they are not allowed to grow up.
