As a BPHS student, I must say this school is excelent. It offers many different classes and the teachers are outstanding only to say the least.
Many students have been able to excel within the academic program offered and have had excellent extra/co-curricular opportunities to develop their skills and talents for the future. It is incumbent upon the students to challenge themselves but the opportunity exists to prepare themselves to compete for colleges and careers with any other student in the state. The community itself tends to be a bit insular but there are many families who are more progressive in their thinking and support of quality education. The facilities desperately need upgraded but the educational base is there.
My children graduated from BPHS in 2002 and 2006. Both children were very well-prepared for the colleges they chose-University of Pittsburgh and Penn State. I attribute their success not only to the academic program at the high school, but to the excellent start they got at Bethel Memorial Elementary.
