Gordon Lee is a good school. Going to that school gives students a certain label and most are ok with it. Chickamauga is the 'Mayberry' of Georgia. And although that may be true it is simply a mask, put on to look good by the rest of the world. Some of the teachers really do care, but others give assignments and make comments to the students on how they do not know more than the students themselves. Others give assignments simply as busy work with no real educational value. There are not many active clubs and a limited selection of extra-cirricular ativities for those who are not atheltically able. The leadership is sometimes there and although there are not many problems within the school like fighting or bullying, there are problems with a lack of respect for teachers, mostly due to the lack of respect they give to their own authority.

Chickamauga is a great small community. Unfortunately, the schools and community would rather cover problems to save face and look as though everyone has a white picket fence instead of facing those problems head on. I am a therapist that came into schools and did groups for free based on a state funded grant program. Every school in this area was open to any help for students that needed it except Gordon Lee. They stated that they did not have 'those' problems. Every schools has problems and students can always use help of any kind. Drugs and Bullying are huge issues here, but it will continue until the problems are acknowledged.

This is the best school!!! I graduated from GLHS and all my children have gone there. I would recommened this school to any one!
