Portal Middle/High School

I think portal is a great institution for learning, but as far a social life, since portal is soo small there is not many things to do.

I am a student at PMHS. I strongly disagree with most of these reviews. These parents have no idea what they are talking about! If you spent every day at this wonderful school, you'd understand that our teachers are fantastic at their jobs! I have made straight A's all throughout my middle and high school years and it's all because of these wonderful people! I believe that most of the problems we have with behavior and insubordination stem from bad upbringing. If you parents would raise your children to respect their elders, then they wouldnt have to be told more than once to tuck in their shirt tails! I'm going to be a senior this year, and I can safely say that I feel prepared for the real world because of all the love and support from the tightly knit crowd of folks at Portal Middle High School. Thank you.

Portal is a great school. We take acedemics very seriously here, and despite what people may think, our schooling is definitely the most important thing here, not football or cheerleading [or softball, baseball, basketball.] And players of the sports don't get special attention either, really. We're just recognized because we're involved in an activity. Of course we have disadvantages, [like not having many clubs, or sports like soccer or tennis] since we're so much smaller than most schools, but we're a smart bunch and most of us take our grades seriously. As for the dress code, it is really strict, but it's just something you're going to have to deal with. Overall, I really think that Portal is a much better choice of public school to go to than any other in Bulloch County if you want a quality education.

Hi, I will be a senior at Portal next year and I love it. Yeah, there are some disadvantages of going to a small school like lack of AP/Advanced classes, but were working on it and I honestly believe that the bad outweighs the good. In response to us not reaching our potentisl, I strongly disagree. Portal teachers have really helped me realize what I want to do in life and have inspired me so much I would like to become a Math Teacher and even teach at Portal. To say that 90% of the teachers are bad is just wrong!
