As this school is good in the religious aspect of learning, they need to offer the HOSTS program to students who have trouble earlier then 3rd grade. I was also very hurt and disappointed in their management skills before the 2008-2009 school year. Without proper planning or forseen consequences, a meeting was held for all families to inform them the Early Ed program was going to be terminated with little notice to find placement for their children for that school year. Over half the families left before the meeting was finished. Families were torn and good teachers I knew left the school. This is not the ideal environment I want my child in for a church or school to damage families who put their heart and soul into everything about it. They did extend the timeline, but the hurt was already done. My child will not be returning.
My kids have been at Cornerstone for almost 3 years now. I have a preschooler and an elementary aged child. One thing that is so special about this place is the emphasis on the Lord. Chapel is my favorite part of the week, as it just puts a knot in my throat to watch these kids worship the Lord. The staff in the elementary and ECE are very friendly and helpful. The administrative assitant in the preschool is knowledgeable and very professional, and continues to provide great service to me & others. Even though there has been a change in the director recently, the place seems to be thriving, and the new director is making some great changes that are benefiting the program. They teach the kids to learn through play as well as guiding them with an academic approach. My child loves school and his teachers very much. Thank you.
Parents, this is a great preschool for your kids, 12 months- 5years! The teachers are experienced, educated, and skilled at what they do. I have two children in the program (preschool with extended care) and my kids LOVE it. I feel safe leaving my children, and know that the environment is a moral one. The director is very educated, and has helped our family in many ways. The Early Ed director gives sound advice, and definitely has a passion for what she does. It's all about the kids. She has built relationships with the children and families in the program...not only the old ones carried over from a different program, but she has made new ones with my family, and others, that I can tell. Check that place out. It's busy, definitely busy with many children--but they are having fun and learning! Way to go, ECE! We are happy parents!
