Bay Point Middle School

Stop trashing on this school. I cannot take it anymore. I have more experience than most of you. I can say for myself that this school would be shut down if it weren't great. All of the other pinellas county schools are being shut down. Bay Point isn't. Shouldn't that say something? Get real. All you parents out there, go for a day. You'll understand. I will never regret going there. The previus comment pretty much said it all. please, stop this nonsense now.

I agree with the previous comment. The school needs to be fixed. It is a nightmare! Students who misbehave have minor, if any, consequences. The teachers are drained because there is only so much they can do, and the students are tired of it. The school needs accountability so students don't fall through the cracks and get distracted from all the behavior problems. The poor, well behaved students, have a right to an education too, why should they be in the shadow of the misbehaving students? Also, if some students see others getting away with causing trouble, they might too. BPMS needs better structure and discipline. It is a madhouse!

I go to school to bay point middle school and I am in the magnet program. The magnet program is well behaved and a good envoirment. But i have to say i witness alot of fights there are at least 2 fights a day. I do not think the principal is doing her job and should disiplane for severly. If someone fights they get maybe a couple of days of suspention. I would not recommend anyone going to this school until the principal is better and they take fighting more seriously!

There are plenty of great schools in Pinellas, but after several tours and talking to many parents, this was the school that my son wanted and we did too! We barely made it to the hallway and he just knew this was the one for him (even though most of his friends from elem. were going a different route. Three year later, and a daughter now in 6th grade, I can say from experience that BPMS is a jewel in south county. Parents need to also remember that what you put into a school is what you get out of it. Middle school is a huge adjustment and good peers are an important part of doing well. My kids have met great friends. Although the state letter grade isn't the end all to end all, B.P. M.S. has earned an 'A' for 8 years in families. WOW!!!
