Great kids, teachers, faculty staff members, and volunteers too. Concerned about traffic & public safety issues; people often speed and triple park near campus; construction & cell phone antenna towers, refinery soot and particulate materials contaminate our campus environment too.

for me Taper has been one of the best school for my kids and the teachers they've had so far, love them.So my rating is based on my experience.

My 5th grader is getting ready to promote to middle school and we are sad to leave Taper Ave. It has been such a positive experience at Taper Avenue. Both of my children have attended this school and had outstanding teachers in the Taper Advanced Studies Program. This is not the magnet program. Every year there has been an emphasis on meeting and exceeding the state standards, but they were also exposed to art, dance, theater, technology, and enrichment that shows how above and beyond the teachers go at Taper Ave Elementary. If you are looking for an experience to help your child grow academically and socially into a well-rounded self-motivated learner, you should visit this school and consider its SAS-Advanced Studies program. As a parent, there are many ways to stay involved, the teachers are welcoming, and the safety, discipline, rigor, and leadership are outstanding.
