The administrating Principal does not merit the title. This dual immersion program is falling apart.

The previous poster proves to be the exception. In fact, it is an indirect testimonial to the school. Thanks to the efforts of the school community, about 40 trees are being planted this November throughout the playground, bringing more shade and beauty for the kids. Morning drop off used to be chaotic. The school community created a model drop off system that officials now implement at schools throughout the city. In the afternoon, parents pick their children up at the gate just like any school. We have been at the school for 5 years now. Yes, parking must be planned for. But never once has afternoon pickup been 'chaotic' for our 2 kids. And in 5 years, all their teachers have been 'wow' outstanding: creative and inspiring. And most families (like mine) decline magnet acceptances to stay at sherman oaks, or come back once they realize what they had.

I took my daughter out of this school because it is disorganized, the playground has no shade and the kids fry. many kids are hurtful to each other and teacher quality varies. The principal is rude and does not accept any criticism, Picking up kids in the afternoon is chaotic due to lack of oversight by responsible adults. They teach to the test and not creatively. Several other parents took their kids out to go to Kester Magnet. I would have loved to use my local school and saved private school tuition but I felt her best interest was not being served in this school.
