This is an excellent cyberschool with a very rich and exciting curriculum. Coming from CA public schools, I am so happy that my child has this option. In CA, my children had almost no science or social studies in the elementary grades, but were drilled to death on anything pertaining to standardized testing. With COVA, by contrast, my daughter has wonderful history and science classes. The science is very experiential and hands-on. The language arts curriculum is particularly good -- imaginative, but in-depth. I see the evidence of a great curriculum in my daughter's accelerated development.

I have been with COVA for 5 years with a son in 6th grade. He has some learning challenges and having the one on one as well as the support services provided by COVA he has been able to learn at his true potential. The materials handling this year has not been good, it is the exception and will improve I'm sure.

Headaches. Books not shipped out (still waiting for them), computers are low end junk, the log on system is always down for maintenance, testing was inaccessable for us, too much adminstrative work for parents. Teachers are pretty much worthless, they don't do anything but send out newsletters. The curriculum is ok, but it seems like a bunch of nonsense busy work to get the point across.
