Compared to the opportunities available in the public schools in Glen Rock, Academy of Our Lady falls far short. In terms of the professionalism of the teachers there is no comparison. If your child marches to their own beat there is no allowance made for individual differences. It is very easy to be a square peg in a round hole. Your self esteem is crushed if you display any originality or creativity. I personally found more Christian behavior in the public schools where my children were treated more kindly and fairly by everyone from the janitor to the principal. If your child is active or talks too much it becomes a major problem to the mediocre teachers at the academy. Yet the same child in public school is re-directed and encouraged and the 'problem' behavior that caused so much punishment and tears no longer is a problem.
I have 2 children in Academy of our Lady and they both adore the school. The atmosphere is warm, nurturing and loving and what's best is they teach their students respect and love for other fellow students which in turn they will carry with them throughout life! Most schools will merely give students and education but Academy gives that plus the building of character and self worth of their students . Love this school. : )

What started at AOOL thinking we'd be there only one year. Now in our 6th, we cannot imagine being anyplace else! What shear joy it has been to see our son mature spiritually as well as behaviorally AND academically. The Administration is on top of it all with caring guidance and a hand-on approach that is simply unmatched. The Administration and faculty are always responsive and consistently have the students best interests in mind.

My son graduated and now attends Don Bosco Prep. He keeps saying how prepared he is because of his foundation at Academy of Our Lady. You can't get a better review than that! The teachers are dedicated, warm and caring. They challenge the children both academically and spiritually. The team approach (administrators, faculty, parents and students) work very well together.
