Lincoln Brick Elementary School

I have been very happy with the education my son is receiving at Brick. I have found the teachers to be very communicative, especially when I've had specific concerns. My son has participated in after school programs and has enjoyed the Valentines dance. I have not found safety to be an issue. Is my son particularly challenged by the curriculum? Maybe not, but I also don't know how much control Brick has over that, and you have to teach to the group.

Wejust moved to another school, which we are very pleased with. I nev er realized what a bad school Brick was until I experienced another school. My child's teacher was rarely there. There were no extra curricular activities, no special in school programs to involve parents. The communication between teachers and parents was very poor. The safety very poor. I would not chose this school if I had to.

I have 2 children currently attending Brick. Both have excelled academically. The teachers have been very attentive and have offered greater challenges as desired. They have also been participants in the free school choir. Free after school Spanish lessons. Science fairs, School plays and Art shows. My son was able to participate in a free Future Engineers of America Program in the fourth Grade. I have found the environment at Brick elementary to be extremely beneficial and having had experience with other neighboring school districts. The free elective and enriching activities are a huge benefit over the same programs at other school districts that can cost hundreds of dollars. I believe Brick to be comparable if not above the average. I would encourage any parent before considering the ratings on these websites to visit the schools. I feel the rating that has been giving to Brick on this site is a terrible view of what a wonderful school Brick elementary actually is.

I've had two of my children attend Brick, both have had great experiences. Mr. Holderith, fifth grade teacher, spent extra time making more challenging math assignments for my son. His 4th grade teacher, Ms. Kurmi had a great behavior reward system and was always full of enthusiasm getting the kids more engaged in learning. The music teacher, Ms. Robbins puts on a 4th and 5th grade choir performance, plus a fantastic talent show. Ms. Stephens, a first grade teacher, loves the kids and always welcomes parent volunteers. We are frequent attenders of 'Literacy Nights' where families can go to the media center after school, take AR tests, participate in fun activities and listen to books being read. My oldest son participated in Academic Games. There is also an after school Spanish program, a Valentines Dance, plus an end of year carnival after school homework help, too many great thing to list!
