Have seen better not necessary the best unfortunately. The school is outdated there's not much parent involment fund raisers bake sales field trips camp trips specialists for students w/ special needs like math specialist speech specialist a.D.D specialist and so on. Riots at time more security dangerous area specially after school when kids walk home.
I think locke is not one of the best schools out there but when there's no other option students have to work double as hard compared to others schools that have better equipment and better academics and are better funded and in better neighborhoods. I could improve by having more program

The quality of academic programs, availability of extracurricular activities, and the level of parent involvement all go hand in hand. If one becomes dysfunctional, the system be comes out of wack. Parent involvement should be embraced, not spat upon by administration and staff. It should be balanced and shared, not one sided creating a power struggle among parents. The teachers must be given more creative freedom to bring innovative teaching methods. Athletic Directors must begin to reach out to sports figures and entertainers to give back the way you, the parent, believes.

Quality of Academic programs at LOCKE has room for improvement, however parent involvement is key. Students at LOCKE have the ability to triumph and become successful in life. Consistance assistance with academic enrichment programs, college ready programs have made a big difference in many students lives at ALHS. The personal touch of Dr. Wells, and other staff members proves that dedication, committment and patience is a teacher to all. Most students in college ready programs succeed with little assistance, however without where would they be. Parents, guardians, uncles, aunties and neighbors must invest in the youth for the youth will be the leaders of the day to come.
