Cordova Elementary School

My child is in the 4th grade and loves her teachers and all the activities, and I love their curriculum there. She is doing excellent in her reading. She's reading to a seventh grade level. She is also in the C.L.U.E program for above average children. I love Cordova and my daughter does not want to leave next school year.

Cordova Elementary is fantastic! The principal places great emphasis on education and there are all kinds of special classes for the children: weekly computer lab for all grades; twice weekly spanish for kindergarten and first grades, daily for second thru fourth; school funded Accelerated Reading program; the Stanford Math program, Math Facts in a Flash, Arts in the Classroom, and Character Construction Zone; weekly music and p.e.; choir and drama for third and fourth grades (optional, after school); violin for fourth grade (optional, but during school hours); after school chess club for all grades; lots and lots of involved parents (of which I am one, obviously)! The school is consistently ranked as one of the three best elementary schools in the Memphis City School system, from attendance to TCAP scores. The only thing the school is lacking is a full sized outdoor playground.
