Wide variety of subjects including the arts and music are available to all students with top technology support

we have no private schools in genoa but the public ones are amazing besides some students that go there but besides that everythings great

The academics are ok but there aren't many extracurricular choices. Things are progressing though and I have a feeling that we will have more oportunities soon and progess both in academics and sports. Its a small town and everyone knows everyone.

We moved to Genoa just as my son began freshman year at Genoa Kingston H.S., (he did not know anyone in town yet) The school is smaller than the middle school in our old town and does not have as many after school activities, which made it hard to make new friends. We were very diappointed to find that there is no wrestling team {though NIU is close and they have an awesome wrestling camp) which is the only sport my son played in middle school (he tried football but was injured). The small class sizes are great and he likes the majority of his teachers. The principal & vice-principal seem out of touch at times with concerns (the vice has not followed through with many issues). The guidance counselor is great and easy to speak to, but she's very over worked. The school nurse is supportive, caring and knowledgeable.
