They have a great educational staff, most of whom seem to care about the students and their education.
This school is mediocre and getting worse. Students are not challenged. Little is asked of or expected from them. The teachers and students share in a 'punch the clock and get it over with' mentality. The idea of demanding excellence would never cross anyone's mind.
I am a parent of three children in the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District. Over the past two year I have been increasing concerned over the recent rise in the number of fights and harassment issues at the Junior High and High School. I find it difficult to communicate with staff and faculty. Often times my e-mails and voicemails are not returned. Our family is considering moving out of the district or private school to improve our children's education.
The teachers at P-O go out of their way to make themselves available to discuss concerns, answer questions, etc. Office staff, library staff, etc. are always courteous and helpful.
