Old Town High School

Its not as bad as some people would think. I myself am a student and I feel that the teachers are easy to relate to and that the school sets a learning envirorment for its teachers and students. I find that the school has decent and reasonable expectations of its students and a great enviroment for kids. The school has close knit and welcoming students and a variity of opperatunities not found in other high schools.

It appears that the budget cuts have had a negative impact on the test scores for this school since they have been implemented. This is disturbing since without a decent education most students couldn't even pass an asfab exam to be eligible to join any of our military services! how could they score high enough on an sat test to qualify for college, if they can't even pass that test? I hope the town will change their mind in the future about 'hurting' the future of their children when they are putting together their next town budget!!!

My daughter is a freshman at this school. Thumbs up to the teachers, the principal, the guidance councilor, the coaches, the athletic director, etc., who genuinly care about her as an individual. This is a new experience for us. I am so excited to see her self esteem and confidence improve each day. I am seeing her accomplish things I always knew she was capable of, but she just needed someone (besides Mom) to believe in her. She is getting this much needed encouragment here at Old Town High School. She was threatened one day by a classmate, but the school immediately took care of the situation, and they did a good job because there has been absolutely no negative residual effects. I like the rules regarding athletics which are strict, but fair. I know there will be budget cuts, but the key factors will still be there. Thank you.
