While Fayerweather Street School has a progressive mission statement, we do not feel that the school actually carries it through to the classroom. The administration is not progressive and there is a lot of discord between administration, teachers and parents.

You know from the moment you walk in that this is a special place. Fayerweather does an amazing job being both academically challenging and child-centered. The teachers know each child incredibly well and support them accordingly. Kids and teachers at the school are community-minded, inclusive, and kind. This school really values diversity making families feel embraced by both the social environment and curriculum. Fayerweather has amazing teachers (and low turn over) and a supportive administration. A small school with big benefits and great resources! I can't imagine sending my child anywhere else.

We have two children at Fayerweather. I appreciate most that the school is a safe place for children to grow and develop into thoughtful, independent and caring young adults. The teachers are exceptional and responsive to any issue we bring to them. The administration makes an extraordinary effort to get community input on important decisions that the school makes. The parent community is engaged. Fayerweather is a exceptional school.

We intended to enroll our son for just Kindergarten because the local school does only a half-day, but we are going to continue on because the school is terrific. Lots of personal attention for kids; the teachers will work with you on whatever you think is important - reading, writing, art, math, music, etc. We saw the results as the year unfolded, it's now Summer and our son is already asking to go back in the Fall.
