Even with all the computer resources, the MAP scores are still far below the state average. Why? If you compare VP to other elementary schools in the area, VP is far below them. Why? Is it the leadership, teachers, parent involvement? I am a very concerned parent. VP has a very low student/teacher ratio which is a huge indicator of student success. Our scores need to be at least state average in communication and math. What is the problem?

I moved from the Parkway school district and was disappointed to find that we were now in Valley Park School. However, I was extremely impressed by what I saw. They seem to be making great strides in providing up to date teaching techniques including the EMINTS computer program where children learn to utilize the internet for learning purposes. My children's experiences w/ EMINTS was nothing short of spectacular! Some teachers seem to be better than others however, the office team cannot be beat. Both the Principal and Vice Principle are very caring & have an open door policy. There is great diversity in the school that the staff embraces. They have great after school programs and activity buses that take the kids home afterwards (great for working parents!). They've added classrooms, early childhood development and a new gym in just the two yrs we've been there.
