Leadership is lacking for strong and progressive academic programs/policies throughout the school. While there are many good teachers, there are also some that perform at a minimum level of competency. No state teaching license required in parochial schools. Foreign language is offered to 6,7,8 grades (only French adequately taught). World languages taught at lower levels in place of a comprehensive foreign language program. A poorly conceived and regulated dress code in place, should just have gone with uniforms if a proper dress code was strongly desired. Teacher student ratio good. Art, music, computer programs are good. Another plus is the dedicated library staff. Religious lessons part of every day curriculum (30 min. +/-) in addition to this attendance at a mass once a week is required. Fairly conservative atmosphere throughout the school. No strong policy on bullying, some issues also with cliches.

Academically, this is a fine school. The curriculum is good and the students are challenged. The school, however, does suffer from a lack of discipline and leadership. Problem students are not uniformly addressed and they continue to impact classes and recess knowing full well there will be little or no accountability. The teachers do a good job of working with students and making sure they are learning the material. The music, art and computer teachers do a tremendous job motivating students.

Academically, St. Frances Cabrini is a good school. My kids have been lucky to have some great teachers that have worked with them to not just learn concepts, but master them. The Physical Education teacher, however, is not a good fit for an elementary school. Physical Education is a definite deficit for the school.

Great teachers, respectful environment, excellent facilities, and caring atmosphere with a solid values based belief system. Sports, Music and Art programs as well as foreign language are part of the standard curriculum. This school is exceptional.
