This school has high expectations of it's students and most rise to these expectations. I do, believe, however, that the principal is more interested in the reputation of the school than the children that are in the school. My child had 2 incidences with another child that were very disturbing last year, and although it was brought to the attention of the principal, first by my child, then by a teacher, it was ignored. These were situations where my child's safety were involved, and nothing was ever addressed with me by the principal. I had decided that because of this, I was going to make sure that the new vice principal was aware, as I was told he would be 'in charge of disciplinary actions.' I trust that the vice principal will not let this type of thing continue at KQA. I do not have confidence in the principal at KQA

Too bad some parents are ready to rate a school only after a couple of weeks into the year. It was pointed out at the back to school night this is a school of choice, not an alternative school. New teachers need time to settle in as well as the students. From what we have seen with our MS student, it is much better than it has been in the past. Strong dedication to school policy and the students respect the staff.

Not a good experience for our family, especially in the middle school. We witnessed a lack of organization, communication and discipline by the administration. We were sad to hear that many of the middle school teachers left after one year. Maybe having an AP this year will help, but we didn't want to wait long enough to find out.
