This school may be up and coming, like the neighborhood surrounding it, but it has a long way to go. The current principal is pushing the Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound model of project-based learning, which is interesting and may increase student motivation. The teachers work incredibly hard, running extra classes after school, on weekends, and during holidays to try to increase students' basic skills and test scores, but it is an uphill battle. Many positive changes have been made under the current principal, who is in her third year.
