All of my children have attended HCA. I have only positive comments to report. The administration and teachers are very loving and capable. This school is very structured, which is just what my children needed. It is also very balanced in teaching with a Christian emphasis. Parents are always welcome to be involved with all activities. I have recommended this school to many people and happy to do so.

There are many negative things you will find out about this school once you start going there. As a student of the high school class, I've found that HCA is stressful place to learn. You are pretty much self-taught and you won't always be able to get help in your schoolwork when you need it, especially in math and science. When it comes to taking tests, students are held at a ridiculously-high standard of 80% as a passing grade. If a student makes less than 80% on their test, they are required to repeat the lessons in the entire book (or computer unit)and take the test again. This is not a practical for students who are in effect teaching themselves. HCA over-disciplines their students. It is very easy to get a detention, usually for very petty reasons like forgetting to get something signed. Detention is literally an everyday thing for some students.

The school is wonderful when you would like to have a child who knows and understands the bible. The only concern with the school is there is no standardize testing done. It may appear to some as though there is a lack of education that is being experienced at this school. Since it is private, there are not that many sports such as football, etc at the school. They do have basketball. The parent involvment is great. They allow parents to interact at the school with the children.
