As a an involved parent of two sacajewa students I want to give Sacajewa thumbs up. You will find positive and negative about every school, but these guys are doing a lot right. The staff is amazing and very involved with each individual student. Students develop at their own pace and Sacajewa gives them the opportunity to grow and feel good about themselves at whatever stage they are at. Both my kids, one an introvert and one quite a socialite are both learning, growing and enjoying themselves. I couldn't ask for more.

You are greeted with big smiles and a warm feeling, but after two years of mismanaged events and stressed teachers I think the administration needs to be refined. It is clear the principal is new. Many parents are involved yet are frustrated in volunteering with poor instruction. The teachers seem overwhelmed. Class sizes are fairly large. Students are expected to behave at levels too mature for the age group. Recess is often restricted to indoor quiet activity due to poor weather, not allowing a healthy break. They use a green, yellow, red system and many monthly rewards that begin to separate the children rather than promote positive results. All academics in Kindergarten and First Grade were behind the other local elementary schools, these are run by specialists, not the teachers. There is a lot of extracurricular activity that could be cut out to allow catch up time on reading and math.
