I have two children who have been at LCDS since pre-k. From the very beginning we have been made to feel welcome to the LCDS community. The dedication from other parents in supporting the PA and the teachers is amazing. My children do not want to go to any other school. They are challenged, valued and guided towards being excellent citizens. Like most private schools, perhaps even more important than the value of excellent educators and a challenging curriculum is the high level of their peers. These are intelligent, well adjusted children who all bring something to the table to the benefit of the class. I don't have to worry about 'teaching to the lowest common denominator', here that level is high. My children never come home bored with their day. They can't wait to get back the next day. That is priceless.
It is the most all encompassing education around! Outstanding faculty, excellent sports, art, music -- you name it! worth every penny of tuition to give my children the best all around education available in my area.

Our daughter's transition to first grade at Loudoun Country Day School (LCDS) followed four successful years in a Montessori School. An avid reader with a passion for learning, we searched for a school that would nurture her social and educational development and treat her as an individual learner. To say we have been pleased would be a gross understatement. Every aspect of education at LCDS is planned for by educators who clearly have a love for teaching. Learning is reinforced with hands-on experiences or field trips, encouraging the application of classroom principles to the real world. Thoughtful discussions among students at every age, older students mentoring younger students, school hallways decorated with student art, tons of school spirit, small class sizes, a whole lot of heart...this is a school where kids are encouraged to become active members of our community and learn to feel proud of the people they are.
