I have 2 children currently at Ida Middle school and both are struggling, i cannot understand why this district doe'snt have a tutoring program in place after school for kids that need extra help with their academics, i wonder why the honor society kids can't get extra credit to tutor or over achiever kids get some form of reward to tutor academically challanged expecially since the hearing impaired is centered in this district. All kids needing help would benefit on both sides, what a great way to teach all kids to be more understanding and caring. Even at a fee, i'm sure many of kids would partake and the school benifit as well. Hopefully someone will consider this ideal.
I personally love ida schools! Mr. Buckley runs the elementary school with a firm yet caring hand. I have never been so comfortable with a school system. My boys are in the middle school now, and although there maybe room for change just a bit in there sports programs (I happened to be a believer of size dosen't matter, a kid should get a chance to prove himself not overlooked because of his size) Ida has been good to us! I would recommend our school to anyone who has had a bad experience with a school system!
I was a proud graduate of Ida Schools, I brought my children here from Toledo, believing I was bringing them into a better school system. I was extremely disappointed especially with the elementary school. The principal in my opinion is worthless, the teachers like to talk about the students to other parents, there is no privacy. The teachers think they are helping when they are not! There is no such thing as any kind of discipline in the elementary. I have a child with ADHD we have had minimal support from the schools, so if you need any extra help from the school, I do not advise this systm. After two years of struggling, I am finally getting help for my child in the middle school after a 6 month battle with teachers and etc. I do give thanks to the middle school psychologist and social worker for helping us out.
