I attended Tonasket High School for four years and I was involved in several extracurricular activities. I believe that the high school is well-above-average. The teachers really put a lot of effort into teaching and most of them seemed to really connect well with students. Students with advanced capabilities were singled out for special projects so they didn't get bored in classes that were moving slowly through the subject matter. The music program was enthusiastic and popular, yet shockingly under-funded and supported by the district. Concerts often brought in several hundred viewers, but the administrators seemed to prefer to spend money on sports. The school also lacked a comprehensive drama program. Back to academics--For it's size, Tonasket does a great job of providing AP classes to students, though many subjects are not available in the AP format because only 2 or 3 students would be interested each year.
