Last summer, my boys could not contain their excitement about each and every camp session. They would get into the car talking over each other to tell me all the details about their morning. The word that my younger son used most often to describe camp was 'awesome!' This camp experience was phenomenal for all of us. Both of my boys learned while having fun in a fantastic environment filled with staff members who were not only professional and knowledgeable, but fun-loving, caring, enthusiastic and energetic. I cannot thank Pinecrest School enough for creating this Pinecrest Summer Pavilion program. Your camp director s creativity, attention to detail, and amazing organizational skills showed each and every day. My boys are already signed up for summer 2008 and we can t wait to return!!!
Pinecrest is wonderful, small school that offers children many options to discover their strengths and interests and/or to overcome any challenges they might face. Our son, who is now in 5th grade, has been there since kindergarten and we could not be happier with the strong academic foundation he has gotten. We believe that Pinecrest has given him the tools he needs to be successful anywhere. Next year, he'll attend a gifted/talent center in the Fairfax County Public Schools. Although Pinecrest is private, and not required to give SOL tests, they do conduct regular standardized testing to assess the students' progress, which is reassuring. As a small school with small classes, Pinecrest is able offer kids highly individualized instruction as well as exposure to many fun, educational and cultural opportunities (both planned far in advance and those that may present themselves with little advance notice). Check Pinecrest out!
I could not recommend Pinecrest School highly enough. We are a British family with a 4 and 7 year old living in the US for 3 years and school was obviously a major concern. I read wonderful things about Pincrest School on this website and after a very encouraging conversation with the Headteacher, I decided it would be perfect for my children. We have now been here for 7 months and Pinecrest School is the greatest thing I could have possibly done for my children. The small class sizes and very nurturing environment along with the wonderful enrichment programme (French, Music, Computers, PE) have brought out the best in my children who tell me they don't ever want to leave! The school has superb leadership and I am constantly amazed by how well all the faculty know each child. It will be with great sadness we leave.
We love Pinecrest! We have watched our child grow confident and happy since attending for the past two years. He used to be the type of student that would just want to blend into the class and not participate. Now he is an active participant in school. Someone said that Pinecrest is the best kept secret in Northern Virginia and I have to agree. But then when you find something that works this well, you want to shout it out!
