With the exception of one year, I have had a student at Bauer for the past 13 school years. I have seen many changes and comings and goings of staff. Each year just gets better and better. Both principals I have had the pleasure to work with have always recruited the finest educators and support staff. And our teachers have always gone above and beyond to make sure they are using the best resources they can to give our kids the best education available today. They continue to challenge themselves to find new ways to teach and use tried and true methods as well. I can't imagine my 3 children could find a better learning enviornment. We have a strong Parent Club that supports the staff in many ways. And our parents are always willing to help out when needed. Bauer Elementary is a fine public school.
Wonderful school ... thank you for all you do. My daughter has loved learning in kindergarden and is excited for 1st grade! Also the environment there is positive. Keep up the good work!
Bauer seems to be the premier elementary school of several schools in the Hudsonville district. It's nearly impossible to transfer in through the school of choice program. If a family has children that go to Bauer and they decide to move (even a couple blocks) there's no guarantee all your children will be able to continue at Bauer. It's that competitive. The reasons are obvious. It appears that every teacher is excellent. I have never heard any complaints about any teacher at Bauer. They seem to go the extra mile (stay late) to provide the best possible education they're able. The parent club is very strong. Consistent strong club leadership combined with super-involved parents have produced significant fundraising achievements and several extra esteem-building activities for the students. The facilities are great also. Excellent library and computer media center. Art, Music, P.E., Speech, Reading teachers excellent as well. Principal is top-notch!
