Since the arrival of the new principal there has been a dramatic turn around for the better. He is committed, caring and available to studets, families and staff. He has an understanding and respect for the community he works with.

My child attended cole for a very short period of time until I enrolled her into another school. There is very little parent participation and the principal does not like to communicate with parents as well. The school is filthy and smells foul and there are gang bangers who hang out in front of the school during and after school hours. Because of the lack of care the principal has for this school, I yanked my child out A.S.A.P. There are a handful of awesome teachers though...Mrs. Thomas and Mrs, Shanks are intelligent and wonderful teachers!

My child was a student at cole for 2 years and i have pulled him out becuase not only are there major discipline problems with the children, the most upseting thing is the principal does not communicate to the parents, yet they want to complain about parent participation. No matter how hard i tried and how many visits i made to the school i felt like i hit a brick wall. I also sat in on a few classes and even though they have some great teachers there are some that should not be dealing with children.

Most of the teachers at Cole Performing Arts Magnet are caring and intelligent. Test scores are improving each year. There are some dicipline problems, but teachers attempt to teach the children to respect themselves others. Students benefit from the after school tutoring program. There was no instrumental music program this year. This a performing arts magnet school...why is there no band or orchestra!?! Parent participation is low.
